Where I’ll let you know I’m selling something,
But before we go there I’ve got a hook to give you.

I’ve got about 5 seconds, more or less.
Marketing has determined that through
Careful research into the demographics
And there’s no way around it.

This is the part where I’m supposed to give a lead-in story.

But where we might have short attention spans it seems that marketing and advertising have piss-poor memory. Once upon a time it was the first marketeers that dazzled with chaotic imagery and catchy wording.

They flashed it across radios, later televisions, and now every device you’ve got.

They went for shorter and shorter.
Saves cost of ads, you know?
And gets you in before you realize
You probably don’t actually
Give a flying shit.

This is where I am supposed to make sure you know that you’re in pain.

That you’ve got something damaged.
That there’s a part of your life that could
-With my help of course- be better.
That if you don’t, that’s ok, but here
Is my contact info for when you realize
You’ve made a mistake.

It’s true though, you do have a pain. A pain that the people responsible for selling things gave you. Let me be clear: sales are not bad. It is in fact, a service. Because at the core, a sale is a chance for one person to show you something you can purchase that you *actually* *fucking* *want*.

But the pain you’ve got,
That I want to sell you a fix to
Was given to you by the people
Selling other things that you
Probably didn’t need.
Not the ones you bought,
But all of the other trash filling
Air-space and eyes-space and mind-space.

This is the part where I let you know that your frustrating lack of focus and attention span can be fixed.

That pain we’ve pointed at isn’t permanent, oh no folks, it’s curable.

And I am going to show you how.

This is the part where I only give you the conceptual under-frame of the cure, so that you’ll be dying to buy whatever extra I have.

It’s true, I won’t be giving you the whole bundle here.

This is the part where I’m supposed to tell you a bit about what it is. But only briefly.

It’s fast.
It’s simple.
It’s daily.
You’ll love it.

This is the part where I’m supposed to tell you about all of the benefits.

Sharper attention.
Clearer focus.
Less messy mind.
More sex.

That was the part where I’m supposed to make sure it’s about sex, because sex always sells.

It’s one of the most powerful ways to redirect attention,
Practice developing superior focus in a convenient setting,
And actually recreate the conditions by which your brain
Will actually re-build itself and produce the chemicals
You need to get exactly what you want from life.

This is the part where I am supposed to use false scarcity to make you buy it now.

Every day you don’t
Is another day that’s
Wasted, my friend.

This is the part where I am supposed to reveal the product.

So maybe I will.
Folks, believe it or not,
This one is called meditation.

This is the part where I am supposed to talk it up a bit more. But you know the drill by now. So we’ll get to the part where I am supposed to tell you the price.

Hold onto your seats because this is a daily as-you-want payment that will continue for the rest of your life. I know that sounds steep, but hang on! If you make this payment it gets easier, every day. And soon you won’t even realize you’re paying it!

Folks, the daily price of this product that will solve all of your attention and focus issues is…

Exactly as much time as you’re willing to pay.

This is the part where I am supposed to distract you from the price with more awesome benefits so you won’t dwell on it.

But I’m not going to do that. You deserve better.

Marketers filled a gap in society that we needed. The importance of mythos and story. They just did it for cash. And the industry evolved into something pretty twisted. And along the way, new technologies were used such that we gave up our attention span as the price. But the great thing about human beings, this weird organism we’re all giving a spin, is that we have a LOT more power than we realize.

And the first step to reclaiming that power
Is regaining the mindset and strengths
That we gave up without knowing.

Focus. Attention. Emotional awareness.
Clear thinking. Strong memory.
Mind-body connection.

I’m not asking you for any money.
You don’t even have to tell me if
You’re going to buy this pain-solving product.
You’re the one that pays,
Whether you do it or not.
And you’re the one that collects
Exactly as much return as you create.

If you’re not sure where to start, I suggest a few of these:

Body-awareness meditations
————-(Vipassana retreats are great and free)
Thought Holding meditations
————-(These usually involve visuals or mantras)
Oneness meditations
————-(Zen will teach you to dissolve the body-mind division)
Manifestation Meditations
————-(Combine appreciation with visualization)
Hunter/Ranger Focus Exercises
————-(open eye active, I can give you these)
Active/Walking Exercises
————-(labyrinth walks, silent tai chi, or slow-silent yoga)
Active Eye Exercises
————-(can be done anywhere or with shrines for visual)

If you have any questions I’ll answer to the best of my experience.

You don’t have to pay for any of these in dollars,
But you do have to pay.
Your time can be spent destroying your attention span,
Or building it.

The choice is yours.
